Duderstadt Center Audio, Video and Multimedia Studios COVID-19 Guidelines


Due to the COVID-19 Pandemic, until further notice these additional limitations and procedures must be observed as part of any use of Duderstadt Center Media & Studio Arts facilities.


Production Support


  1. All client Proposal and Production Meetings will be held by video conference.

  2. All production proposals will be considered within the constraints demanded by these COVID safety guidelines.

  3. No audiences are allowed in any studio.

  4. Live streaming is the default presentation solution.

  5. If a COVID-19 case is suspected, we will contact EHS at EHS-COVID-19-Reporting@umich.edu to assess the need for additional cleaning and potential isolation. The current production or class will be cancelled and DC will make every attempt to reschedule it for a later date when safe to do so.


Protocol Within Studios


  1. Social Distancing must be maintained at all times

  • All users must respect waiting area floors marked with 6-foot distancing while waiting for entry.

  • Individual space required per individual is (36ft x Pi) or 113 sq.ft. (circular), 144 sq.ft. (square).

  • Maximum # of people allowed per space, including staff:

    • Audio Studio A Control Room - 2

    • Audio Studio A Tracking Room - 4 (+1 ISO) - Performers only

    • Audio Studio B - 1

    • Audio Studio C - 1

2. All occupants must have completed the MyLinc general safety training module as well as the daily ResponsiBlue Screening.

3. Face masks are required for all occupants.

4. Face shields are required for anyone working within 6’ of another person for more than 15 minutes.

5. Rubber gloves are optional but encouraged.

6. Use of a windscreen for every mic used is required.

7. Studios Sanitization

    • Will be performed by DC staff at the end of each reservation period. 60 minutes is required for this process.
